Thank you for subscribing to the Kylie Johnston Lung Cancer Network E-newsletter - this is the first edition of our monthly newsletter, to provide you with timely updates on services, resources and events of interest to lung cancer patients and their families.

Lung Cancer Telephone Support Group Pilots

In January this year, we started a monthly Patients' telephone support group (TSG) and had four patients from around Australia come together to have a chat about how they are managing their lives while living with lung cancer.

We now have two patients' TSGs connecting each month and these groups enjoy vigorous conversations on a wide range of topics and share lots of treatment stories, health tips and strategies with one another. In fact, our two facilitators spend most of the hour listening, such is the synergy of the groups.

Our monthly Carers' TSG is going strong and we welcome new members to both groups. 

Telephone Support Groups dates for the next two months are: –

Patients Groups:  Thursday 19 May and Thursday 16 June

Carers Group:       Thursday 26 May  and Thursday 23 June

These support groups are particularly beneficial to patients who live in regional and rural communities around Australia and we’d like to share with you thoughts from two of our group members.
